Each box is crafted from wood and finished in your choice of stain if you select pine, or natural mineral oil if you select walnut, mahogany, cherry or aromatic cedar.
The top of the lid is laser engraved with a name and comes standard with the Henry David Thoreau quote as pictured: your box will include this quote unless you request not to have it, or if you request to replace it with other text. The lid includes the card slot as pictured, or you can request not to have one.
The front of the box can hold a 4x6 photo, which can be inserted and removed from the inside of the box. This piece is not glass but clear acrylic, so there is little danger of breakage. If you would like to insert your own photo, select the "No photo insert" option from the drop down menu.
You also have the option to send us a photo and we can print it directly on a wood insert using state-of-the-art, permanent dye sublimation.
If you would like to take advantage of the "Photo Print on Wood" option - select that option and then choose the natural wood or white background (see photos for examples - the white background will print true-to-color, while the wood background will have the wood grain visible through the photo).
The wood photo print is removable, just like a picture frame, so you can replace it in the future if you wish.
